| 16-day Action: Meeting held in Changsha to celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women |

The municipal work conference of the leading group on the protection work of women and children's rights and interests was held in Yunan Street, Tianxin District, Changsha City on November 25. The meeting aimed to summarize the anti-domestic violence work in 2009 and discuss on how to promote the legislation and law enforcement against domestic violence.
Xiong Xiaoqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, host the meeting. Over 50 delegates and volunteers from the member units of the leading group, local government departments and local men's action group for fighting domestic violence attended the meeting.
 The meeting included three procedures: First, introducing the anti-domestic violence work in Changsha; second, volunteers from men's action group against domestic violence called on all men of the city to avoid domestic violence; third, discussing on the draft of opinions on promoting the legislation and law enforcement to prevent and stop domestic violence.
