| 16-day Action: Luohe holds trainings against gender-based violence |

Trainings against gender-based violence were held jointly by Luohe Women's Federation (LWF) and Luohe Bureau of Justice for 14 local students and 20 local lawyer volunteers on November 12 and 14. The trainings marked the beginning of the city's second16-day action against gender-based violence.
 Invited by the Anti-Domestic Violence Network (ADVN), LWF, Luohe University and Luohe Medical College attended the first 16-day action against gender-based violence in 2008. Targeting on the group of young people, the 16-day action of 2009 will call on them to advocate the fight against gender-based violence and gender equality.
 The participative trainings explained, by PPT, the definition, characteristics, forms and harm of the gender-based violence. Watching the films White Ribbon and Investigation in Women's Prison helped participants understand the meaning of anti-gender-based violence.
Before the trainings ended, the colleges and law offices made action plans, practical and diversified, to prepare for the 16-day action of 2009. |
