Training on the intervention of domestic violence was held for local police jointly by Qianxi Women's Federation and local public security bureau on December 14, 2009. Trainers included Liu Ping and Li Yingjun from Shijiazhuang Police Training School and ADVN expert Rong Weiyi. About 30 delegates, from local police department, women's federation and legal-aid center attended the training.
 The training had two targets: First, implement the Opinions on Preventing and Stopping Domestic Violence and raise the police's awareness and ability to intervene domestic violence cases; and second, examine and evaluate the effect of the TOT training held by the ADVN in February 2009.
By watching video programs of Hebei Women's Jail (CCTV News Probe) and police's intervention on domestic violence in the United States, and holding group discussions, participants learned the importance and necessity of police's intervention on domestic violence and explored on how to intervene.
 According to the 21 evaluation forms filled by participants, 95 percent of them were satisfied with the training. Seventeen chose very good and three chose good. Only one selected very bad, but admitted that through the training his/her conception on domestic violence had changed, and he/she had more confidence in intervening domestic violence. In a word, the training was successful. |
